MAN’S MILITARY PRODUCTS

With almost a 100 years of commercial and military vehicle design and production experience, MAN is well able to produce a range of military vehicle systems that are extremely robust and reliable – even within the military operational environment.

The MAN military systems exhibit a world of knowledge from a wide range of users both large and small. Exceptional life-cycle costs from 20 to 30 years are achieved clearly demonstrating this significant pedigree.

MAN trucks have extraordinary levels of interoperability and commonality across the whole family. A significant strength of the MAN range is that they are truly a ‘family of vehicles’ developed across the range as a fleet to become a formidable ‘logistical system’ designed specifically to reduce the logistic tail and resultant cost of ownership so important to modern armies.

MAN’s family range of 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 are known as the Military Elite and incorporate the latest technologies to combat emerging threats. The family consists of:

• SX - extreme mobility; and
• HX - high mobility military systems.

In addition MAN supports its ‘pure-breds’ with a range of ‘militarised’ COTS-based systems which are adopted from the civil fleet to meet more stringent military/industrial needs.

MAN provides a number of vehicles which are air transportable by the C-130 Hercules aircraft in support of rapid deployment needs.

A common cabin across the entire family provides exceptional military orientated use and the internal space is not compromised with the range of armoured solutions.

Proven Crew protection is one of MAN’s highest priorities (shown below is an SX 8x8 c/w armoured container) The highest levels of protection are achieved with MAN providing three basic protection platforms. These range from the fully integrated armoured solution (IAC) to the lower adaptive armour kit solutions as necessary to suit lower threat requirements. MAN offers protection for ballistic and blast up to the equivalent of an 8kg TNT (STANAG 4569). All MAN armoured solutions are OEM certified.
